Discovery Education defines a webquest as an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that students interact with comes from resources on the internet. In the classroom, I will either make or find fun and educational webquests. I will set the children up with a webquest and allow their imaginations to soar. If they have any problems I will assist them.
Some pros for webquests are that they are fun, educational, and grabs the students' attention.
Some cons for webquests are that they are time consuming and students may get distracted in them.
Most webquests are designed to facilitate students' use of higher-order thinking skills. That's a good combination with an inquiry-oriented activity.
